General Questions

Yes — many families use our products for both adults and children as part of their daily oral care routines. Children often respond especially well to nourishing oral care because their bodies are still growing and regenerating quickly.

Because we do not use chemical preservatives, we recommend keeping all products clean, dry, and free from water exposure whenever possible.

Our toothpaste is best used within 3 months of opening. Tooth Puddy typically lasts 1–2 years unopened and several months to a year after opening, depending on storage conditions. Herbal blends generally last around 2 years, while our ozonated oils are best stored in a cool, dry place to help preserve freshness over time.

* Because our products are made without chemical preservatives, we recommend keeping them clean, dry, and free from water exposure whenever possible. Introducing water into the container may increase the risk of mold growth and can shorten the product's shelf life.

We work with dentists who actively treat patients and recommend our products in clinical practice. They are able to closely monitor what’s happening over time and, to date, we have never received a single report of this occurring.

The results people share are most often associated with Tooth Puddy, or with a combination of Tooth Puddy and our other products—especially the toothpaste and tooth serum. Many also find our Bone Renewal formula to be a valuable part of their routine.

That said, we always emphasize the importance of internal nutrition. Ensuring you're getting adequate minerals and vitamins—through a nutrient-dense diet, supplements, or both—is one of the most important factors in supporting long-term oral health and lasting results.

In a nutshell, we find that a few key factors tend to make the biggest difference:

  • Applying minerals directly to the teeth with products like Tooth Puddy and/or our toothpaste
  • Supporting mineral intake internally through a nutrient-dense diet, herbs, and supplements
  • Getting adequate vitamins, especially K2 and D3
  • Keeping the mouth moist by staying hydrated, supporting healthy digestion, and avoiding mouth breathing
  • Using an oil daily, as oils can be very supportive for overall oral health. Any of our oils work well, or you can use a high-quality organic oil from your local health food store.

That said, every person's situation is unique. Lasting improvements often come from identifying and addressing the underlying reason dental issues developed in the first place. Sometimes it's a matter of uncovering that missing piece of the puzzle and continuing to make adjustments until you find what your body needs most.

For best results, begin by cleaning the teeth with our toothpaste, tooth powder, tooth scrub, or a combination of these products. They pair wonderfully together and can be customized to your preference.

Next, support the teeth and gums with either oil pulling or one of our tooth or gum serums. Finally, apply Tooth Puddy as the last step in your oral care routine.

No—and that's one of the benefits. Neither you nor your child will be exposed to synthetic preservatives. We do include certain herbs that naturally help discourage microbial growth, but they are much gentler than conventional preservatives.

Because our products are preservative-free and water-free, it's important to keep the jars clean and avoid introducing water into them. If moisture gets into the toothpaste or Tooth Puddy, mold may develop over time. With proper care and storage, however, they remain stable and effective for regular use

No, we use 100% micro-hydroxyapatite from fossilized coral

We have found micro hydroxyapatite to be just as effective and feel more comfortable using it because it more closely reflects a natural particle size. Nano hydroxyapatite is extremely small — so small that it requires an electron microscope to even see it.

There has been some concern around nano HA because its tiny particle size may allow it to travel into areas of the body where it may not belong. We have personally tested both nano and micro hydroxyapatite and did not find nano HA to be more effective. Because of that, we prefer to use the option we feel is safer and more natural — especially for children — rather than introduce unnecessary potential risk without any clear added benefit.

Our hydroxyapatite is micro-crystalline, not nano. The particle size ranges from about 1 to 10 microns, similar in scale to the natural mineral crystals found in enamel.

The particles are rod- and plate-shaped, which mimics real tooth enamel and allows gentle, effective remineralization without any nano-safety concerns.

Tooth Puddy Questions:

The truth is, we don't see it as a matter of one being better than the other. The Original Puddy has years of use behind it and a long history of helping people achieve wonderful results. At the same time, we have been seeing incredible feedback and success stories with Primal Puddy as well.

Both formulas were created with the same goal in mind: to nourish and support the teeth and gums as effectively as possible. The main difference is that Primal Puddy was developed as an alternative for those who may have sensitivities to certain herbs or oils, prefer a simpler ingredient profile, or are looking for a different approach.

Ultimately, we believe the best Puddy is the one that feels right for you and that you will use consistently. Oral health is highly individual, and people often respond differently to various ingredients and formulations. That's why offering options is so important to us—we want our customers to have choices that align with their unique needs and preferences.

Whichever Puddy you choose, you're receiving a thoughtfully crafted formula designed to support a healthy, resilient mouth.

The puddy should not hurt any more than it would hurt to touch a tooth. that being said, many people do describe a throbbing or pulsating feeling which is totally normal! if you experience any abnormal pain, I would consider if there could be an allergy and potentially stop use (or at least take a break).

You can apply it to clean teeth as often as you like.

The consistency of the puddy can be altered to make it closer to your preference. many people like to melt it in their fingers to get it stickier and thinner before they apply. other people like the puddy to be more solid, so they make keep the jar in the fridge or freezer (this can be helpful for applying to the molars). Some people also find it helpful to dry the teeth before applying. One thing i’ve found is that you should not overthink it! i just smear it on quickly and not overthink it too much. everyone does have different mouths; but most people are able to get it to stick just fine!

Absolutely. Some may come off but that is okay!

It is up to you! I apply it like white out or a layer of glue.

We generally recommend keeping it on for at least an hour, though many people prefer to leave it on overnight. That said, even if it falls off, it still mixes with your saliva and can help neutralize acidity in the mouth while introducing beneficial minerals into the saliva.

This really depends on how much you use and how often, but generally it lasts a month at the very least - and oftentimes, many months. It is very dense so a little goes a long way!

Toothpaste Questions:

You do not need to rinse, but it’s important to make sure your teeth feel really clean afterward. Our toothpaste is not abrasive or stripping, so if your teeth are especially dirty, you may find that brushing twice works best.

It’s very concentrated, so you only need a small amount on your toothbrush. When you’re done, your teeth should feel smooth, slippery, and clean.

It is best to spit the toothpaste in your trashcan to avoid clogging your pipes.

Because the toothpaste is oil-based, the best way to clean a toothbrush is simply by using a good soap. You can also use a really hot water. That being said, it is good to change your toothbrushes more frequently than many of us do!

Introducing water into the jar can allow it to mold, so it is best not to

Safety and Purity Questions:

All topical products should be fine because the herbs would only be consumed in extremely tiny amounts. It is best to avoid blends that are ingested, just to be safe. if your herbalist / acupuncturist says it’s okay then i would listen to them! Trust your body’s wisdom and your intuitive judgments. We always recommend that if you have any concerns, start with only a small amount of product in case it may trigger an unknown allergic reaction.

We use micro HA from fossilized coral (basically coral rocks so no living coral is harvested or harmed) from Japan and we use 20% HA in our products

Yes, except if they are allergic to any of the ingredients we use in our products. We ensure that all of our topical products contain the ingredients in quantities that are safe for people of any age to swallow. that being said, I wouldn’t begin using our products in babies that are not yet eating food. Our contaminant levels are far below the daily recommended levels as well. For more info you can read our product purity info page.

Yes, all of our ingredients are food or pharmaceutical grade and are safe to swallow. We have our products tested for purity, and have such low levels of impurities that we don’t even need the California prop 65 warning on them. We test our products regularly, and we test the individual ingredients, because we are always trying to make them even better!

Yes, all of the COAs we have can be found at our product purity page.

Product Recommendations?

Our Remineralizing Tooth Puddy is the product we would highly recommend for spot treatment of areas where you are experiencing decay or demineralization. You can use it in conjunction with other products, including our Remineralizing Toothpaste, Gum Support Oil Pulling Oil or Heal-Thy Teeth; Tooth-Nourishing Topical Serum for added support. We also have a Bone Renewal Herbal Blend that can be used for internal support.

The best thing i’ve found is to use oil first (oil pulling is ideal but you can also just brush with oil) then to use a more abrasive toothpaste (ours would be the whitening tooth scrub). That being said this js not something I would do daily because you don’t want to strip enamel. Like a face scrub, it is to be done occasionally (approx once a week or so).

The tooth puddy and an amazing diet. I would also oil pull with any oil you have at home.

It is going to depend on your mouth! the key is that you want to get your teeth clean before applying the puddy. clean teeth should feel smooth and slippery. Oil and oil pulling can be done before brushing to help soften deposits on the teeth. You can also use something more abrasive like the whitening scrub or tooth powder! I actually also apply oil after brushing too, as a protective varnish on the teeth! this is especially good to do after you use something more abrasive. Puddy is good to use as your final step, then leave it on as long as you can!

I would recommend never mouth breathing (you can use a mouth tape at night) and be sure that you are going to sleep with clear sinuses. You can use a Netty pot if you feel so inclined. I would also recommend getting in the habit of oil pulling daily. You can use our oil oil or any plant organic oil. You could also use our gum oil after brushing. You can apply with your finger or brush it right on. you will also want to make sure that you are cleaning under your gums as well, because any bacteria there will only make it worse! you will also want to make sure that you are adequately hydrated, and that you are not experiencing any constipation. The mouth is the beginning of the digestive system, so constipation indicates dryness of the digestive system in therefore the mouth! so you will want to treat both. I like to use hydrating, natural Jello products and herbs like slippery elm, marshmallow, and tremella!
